Have you ever wanted love so bad
That you stayed by the phone
Waiting for a call that will never come?
Drowned your pain in alcohol just to get numb
Searched the depths of the internet for THE ONE.
Dating sites, profile by profile, no one's right
She might be good. . .ooh look at her height.
Oh she's fine. . .aww damn I got to be white.
Different Requirements, different likes
It seems as if no one knows my plight
Or understands the nights, when I've got no one to hold tight.
Have you ever wanted love so bad
That you lowered your ideals,
Your standards of excellence
The one you want for real?
You're disgusted at the dinner table
At the truth that she reveals
Just this once, why couldn't I
Have been the fifth wheel?
Have you ever wanted love so bad
That when you finally found someone
You screwed it up?
Declared your love as soon as the first date ended
Then pretended not to say anything
And just hope that she would forget it.
Date after date and night after night
When will love and I reunite?
My story had always been, I had love and then. . .
But if I had a pen this is what I would write
Despite, All the pain, hell and games
We made it work
Through thick and thin, we overcame
We've conquered, surmounted, and prevailed
Barriers, Obsticles, Hills
The evidence of you by my side states we never failed
Deep and powerful. Enjoyed
Deep and powerful. Enjoyed the read, Justin!

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."
"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
