Just a Game to you

I want us to be serious
I'm tired of wondering
What it'd be like
To stay more than a night
Take you on dates
Love with all my might

Instead I wait
Being played like a toy
So I enter the game
The one you enjoy

You've got high records
I'm trying to keep up
Player 1 is in control
Player 2 needs luck

Side by side we sit
Unable to commit
One needing more
The second content

I fear to leave or end a conversation
Too much to lose ; you'll give in to temptation
I don't know what to call this type of relation
Just sex in the summer? short term gratification?

I feel less confident
About our current state
You know it's sad
When I have to ask
If we're going on another date

See we can never be
More than what we are
Turn off the controller
Cancel the display
Until then I'll love you from afar
Author's Notes/Comments:

I woke up with the inspiration to write this.  Sometimes you just want the other person in the relationship to be serious, to think about the future.  You know what they say, "the person who cares the least in a relationship has the most power"

Just a game to you:

A good poem, describes very well an unequal relationship. Hope you find your love.
