Our Foundation is Weak
Meaning What we build won't last long
No vibration to our beats
Meaning no base in our song
Your cries are out my reach
You have moved on - this i see
So I amplify my speech
And pull you closer to me
In front of all my friends
I stand at the podium and preach
Giving Lessons on love,
The hypocrisy reeks as i teach
The odor of failure
the taste of deceit
And the relief no one notices, what we used to be
But I digress, I change the genre, she plays along
Seemingly knowing, that we, once again, belong
Together, Forever, Lifelong
I rest in her arms
She rocks me to sleep
I'll follow her wherever
She's the shepherd, I'm the sheep
My former outlook on life
May have been a little bleak
She didn't share her time with me
My love had been cheap
But now I invest in you, and you in me
Our love is reciprocal
I gues that's why they say
You sow what you reap
Never a truer saying "you
Never a truer saying "you sow what you reap". Your poem depicts your mutual love for each other very well.
Enjoyed the read.

Success always comes when preparation meets opportunity
I really am drawn
to this idea, the choice of verse, for all that can encumber love, true to form in a manner that comes to light with just the right amount of metaphoric essence.
Peace
