Walking In The Rain

Walking four days down this same road,

My life is getting heavier by the day.

All of this walking is growing old,

I know there just has to be a better way.

I've been playing the very best I can,

I've made some money but it doesn't help.

Only a few people ever seem to understand,

But through it all I will always be myself.

Every now and then I'll find someone new,

We'll talk then we leave each other behind.

People don't know about what I've been through,

But I know that sometimes soon it'll be my time.

I'll stop walking out in this pouring rain,

Someone will pick me up and make my day.

My heart goes out to others lookin for friends,

I'll tell you believe in yourself, and walk your own way.

It's just fine to go along with the world,

But it will never really get you very far.

There's only so much other people can do for you,

You still have to find out who you are.

Standing right here in the pouring rain,

As the water splashes on everything I own.

Standing here I'm too numb to feel the pain,

But all I know is that I just feel so all alone.

I know everything I've ever done,

It's my fault and I understand.

I know I'm even one to say each to his own,

But why can't people just lend a helpin hand?
