We were not as close
as id hoped we would be
and now its too late
for an apology
An empty promise
i made to you
to visit again soon
if only i knew
you made it much longer
than the dr. Said
but now to say goodbye
is something i truly dread
no one was there
to help you fight
you were all alone
Its just not right
i should have called
or sent you a letter
maybe that way
You would feel better
your body once strong
has grown frail and weak
It went un noticed
week after week
Your face once rosy
Untouched by age
is now pale and still
but defined by a maze
the eyes that used to shine
on the gloomiest day
have no color or twinkle
they are empty and grey
grandpa we were not ready
for you to leave us today
it should not have happened like this...
Not this way..
We love you very much
you are in a better place
but dont forget to look in on us
when we need your smiling face!!!!
