On our walk the other morning as we reached the water’s edge…much to our surprise
there among the usual animals…we saw a swarm of dragonflies.
Flying around us willy-nilly…apparently without a care.
Looking left and right and up and down…we saw dragonflies everywhere.
Seemingly out of nowhere…these dragonflies appeared…
which made us wonder…what in heaven’s name could they be doing here!
Is there a dragonfly convention in town?
Are they’re searching for salvation?
Perhaps they are college dragonflies down here on a spring break vacation.
It was hard to follow them…they moved so fast…
our heads were constantly spinning…
but we swear if we listened closely…we could hear those dragonflies singing.
Their raucous revelry and merrymaking got us both to thinking:
What was in the morning dew those dragonflies were drinking?
We never got the chance to ask them because before we knew it…they moved on…
One minute they were there…the next minute…they were gone.
But we did learn some new things on our walk:
Although dragonflies look frail…they are fun-loving…and hearty…
and
When they’re not flying around hunting insects…
we learned..
dragonflies love to party.
