All my life I've learned to suffer in silence. When I opened up my heart to what appeared to me as true love the emotions ran more rapid than any current. And when love left without a word the current didn't stop, I've cried every day dealing with the pain that's no longer confined. What should be silent has now created a maze, the help I thought was there only plagued whatever sanity remained. It's said suffering leads to humility, builds stronger character. I pray to god for his mercy and for any help he has to offer. I also pray for the good of mankind, so that no one has to feel like me. Witnessing others happiness compensates for the misery I endure, I wish I could explain it to everyone but I fear few to none would understand. A broken record, I tread the same thoughts, but maybe a new path will one day emerge unveiling what will end my sadness. I anticipate that day, although I feel it must be earned, suffering for a greater good. Would you take the risk?

Taking the risk, suffering

Taking the risk, suffering for others, and actually feeling are the path of a hero. Never forget that. As for feeling compensated by others' happiness: I can relate. I liked this poem very much, I salute you. ~Seraphim~

Hey just remember one thing,

Hey just remember one thing, follow your dreams and never stop loving life. Thanks for your consideration of joining the military, never settle for less and don't allow others in this organization to belittle you and that's how you'll survive here.

thanks

Thanks for the feedback and words of wisdom. Writing really helps in sorting out my feelings out here. And no need to salute, I do this out of good conscience.

U.S. Navy sir. I'm not

U.S. Navy sir. I'm not signed up yet; I'm still testing the branches, but as of right now, you're a commanding officer. Therefore, the salute. Also, the poem was worthy of recognition.
