I spend my life waiting

I spend my life waiting
For emails and letters
And positive news,
Phone calls and texts
That give me the blues.

But there's no point waiting,
Waiting for news;
It's better to read,
Or have a good feed,
Or do a good deed!

So march right on,
Ignore the slience;
There are better days ahead!
No longer should we dread,
For each day ends up in bed!

Author's Notes/Comments:

I often publish nonsense verse on this website. This is one of my more serious poems, quite a lyrical work with a bit of a message.
