Que Sera Sera

something is missing from this world I'm in

nothing's quite right, just slightly askew

making it seem like I don’t belong

making me feel like everything’s gone wrong

longing for things long since past

hanging on to things better forgotten

que sera sera, whatever will be will be

it’s easy to say, but hard to live

when the hard times come

when they really hit you

it’s a monster to actually let go

such a monster to practice what you preach

forgive and forget is an impossible feat

the most I can do is forgive

but I’ll never forget what you’ve done

the wound is there, and still slightly fresh

but it’s healing, it’s on the mend

I can’t forget you, but somehow

You’ve been forgiven for all you’ve done

You’ve been forgiven for making it seem

Like it was all my fault

Like I was the one who changed

Like I was the one to blame

Life is never predictable, never the same

And happiness isn’t somewhere you end up

It’s how you deal with what you’ve got

While the journey may be rough

The people you meet, the laughs you share

the people you hurt, the tears you shed

whatever may come, it’s up to you

to make the best of what you’ve got

Part rhyme + part prose + truth = an uplifting poem that blew me away because it screams 'Cogito, ergo sum!' I'm astounded man, great work. Best wishes to where life will take you.
