And try to learn to fake goodbyes
When we need each other again
We can pretend we tried and tried before we cried
I'll sow my wide eyes shut
You can start to open yours up
That when everything seems not like it seems
That is when everything means just everything
Like calling in the hopes to hear a voice on the other end
Like looking so far behind you that you don't see at all ahead
And my phone, it stops ringing when it knows I've shut it off
But my ears, they keep on ringing and it will never ever stop
It's like a gunshot that grazed my face
Enough to create this cold blood that I taste

As to keep from shattering to the floor
