This Canyon Will Shrink

Billboard posted

A mile a minute

No more jobs for hire

All that is wanted

Has a lack of what is needed

A space that's too wide to cross

Keep walking, talking, side by side

On opposite sides of the canyon

Distance will one day become mere feet

That is when you will understand love and life

Without defeat.

Keep walking, talking, side-by-side

I am always here to listen

I cannot stop you from falling down

But I can see ahead and tell you when to take it slow

This Canyon is only temporary

The one thing in the way

So far down is the world below

Surely to die, you don't feel safe having to try

But like I said, the distance shrinks

Turning miles into only mere feet

Close enough to step across one day

This distance seems so worth it in the end

How I look at you is this

How I see our lives is this

How I pray to God is this

How I know that all will be fine is this

Faith in the road ahead comes hard

But you know that this distance has to someday end

No more foolish games to make you fall

No more strong wind gusts from playing pretend

How I live is this

How you live is this

How I walk by you every step of the way, is this

So when you look ahead and you do not see me,

Just look over to your right

The gifts I gave, the love I spoke

Never a joke, more of a token and a helping hand

I am not as far ahead as you once thought

I am always walking these canyon walls

Right next to you

Author's Notes/Comments:

Metaphores all over in this one, she knows what I mean, I know what I mean. That is truly all that matters.  This canyon exists because we called to eachother to help eachother along the way, I'll look ahead for you and tell you where the rough spots are, if you do the same for me too.  This one is very deep, and very true in my opinion, life's difficulties are only mere canyons, if you walk along them and deal with them step by step, they will go away.  All in time...all in time.
