Why do I sometimes feel this way?  

I jump around- look around every which way

The clock ticks up to the bottom of the day

But I never get a chance to go outside and play



I think about the hard times  

I think about the good times

I think about the short times that I am with you



I think about the lovely times  

I think about the ugly times

But none of the times compare to when I’m with you



The sun goes up  

The moon sinks down

I am always wide-awake

In this boring old town



I wish I were with you  

No telling what I'd do

I’d walk a thousand miles

Just to spend a minute with you



Like I have always said  

Nothing more nothing less

You pay with a dime

And get a penny back



That just shows what this world is like today

The time goes so fast

That you’ll miss all that’s past



I can walk up any old street

And hear a horn, a gun,  a racing heart beat

It is always so old

But always so new

I wouldn’t be cold

If only I were with you



Did you hear?  

About our God that came down that day?

Did you hear?

About the children that got to play?

Did you hear?

The he saved me; he’ll save you too

Did you hear?

Bout the time I almost forgot you?



Now did you hear?

About the past of my life?

Did you hear?

Bout the time when she used that knife?

Did you hear?

Bout the tune- they can play it again

Did you hear?

That this world would be love if I only had a friend



Now the times are rough (2:08)

Never said it wouldn’t be tough

Ya walk around talkin-

But never knowin enough

And the words you say

Are guaranteed to hurt you someday



Now tell me-

Is this how you want to live?

Now tell me-

You had to take but can ya give?

Now tell me-

How do ya get so confused?

Now tell me-

If there’s a 1 in 5 chance that ya ever been used?

About the rest of my life?

NOW Tell me-

Will it be pleasure or strife?

Now Tell me-

Did you ever jump the gun?

Now Tell me-

Have ya messed around just to have some fun?



Now that ya know what my life is like…  

Are ya gonna try or just get in a fight?

It wasn’t easy for me-

It wont be easy for you

Just to get to be-

It was HELL I went through



I know that you don’t wanna do that again

So go look around and become a friend

Ya can’t go wrong

Just tryin to belong

But it just takes time

Ya don't do it by writing a rhyme



Just remember-

Everything I just said

Do good cuz ya don't wanna end up dead

That God does too

That not everything comes to an end

But unlike love, this does come to an end

But most of all

Remember that he and I will be there for you
