By every kind of hard work 

advantage is gained 

But simply talking with your mouth 

Leads to want and pain 

A fool, when silent 

Will be viewed as wise 

Anybody keeping quiet 

Appears to realize 

There exists a man 

Who pretends to be rich 

But he hasn't got a thing 

And he sleeps in a ditch 

Another man pretends 

To be completely broke 

But has many possessions 

Of which he's never spoke 

Even by his friends 

A broke man is hated 

But the rich have many friends 

And many claim to be related 

Even when we laugh 

Our heart might be in pain 

And grief becomes reality 

Rejoicing ends in vain 

An answer when mild 

Turns away rage 

But a word causing pain 

Invites Anger on stage 

An enraged man 

Stirs up contention (fights) 

But someone slow to anger 

Quiets down dissension (disagreement)
