03-08 Deciphering Clean Page Disasters

If I can make it there, It’s cuz I went that far:>

like an arrow hittin the mark, I’m gonna leave a scar

on history, like a reverse prophecy on par

with the flux capacitor in the back of my car

i’m ready to overflow the page, fillin up every space

even the rhythm doesn’t pay attention to the words in the way

except to squeeze in between, ain’t nothin gettin thrown away

This Clean Page is gonna do what it takes

to get back to the school, and into the flow

swimmin along like an origami fish in the know

if i’m gonna shine, i gotta get in line for the show

i gotta grab my guitar and just go

sling it over my back like a samurai

so i can whip it out with a battle cry

and make my enemies shudder n stutter n hide

cuz my axe can slice right into your air supply

but somehow i locked myself into and crashed a parked car

by grabbin the nearest distraction and goin too far

travellin miles runnin in place, keepin it revved

red-linin an engine with broken gasket heads

but hey, work with what you have do what you gotta do

like a sniper hunting gophers with a .22

in rays of sunshine rainin down like artillery

delirious from the heat like i soaked up a distillery

now i’m confusin reality with what i see in my vision

of people buildin a system that ain’t at all about wisdom

it’s all about money for power, money for fame

money for makin everyone without enough of it pay

but then i wake up and realize it’s all in the past

the crash already happened, the world was movin too fast

tryin to make every minute count, but the math was wrong

the right song was playin, but nobody would sing along

so i’m decipherin riddles from scribbles on pages i fiddled with

perfectly simple until a little individual hit

caused the glass to crack from the center in intricate

patterns of chaotic lines i gotta find where the riddles fit

Author's Notes/Comments:

hmmmm... I don't always pay attention to the bold or center option when i post poems. . .
