Gone are the days, sincere, sensible
Neutral information, and newspaper impartial.
Mass, Media Communication
Pathetic obloquy
Gossip, slander, customary disgrace
Impede prosperity, pillage, and plunder
shamefully flounder, daily blunder.
Knock over
Deprive, sorcerers, shrill cries.
Bribes steer course of action
Normal existence
Scandalous.
Cranky knockouts,
Disgusting, Distraction!
Formal complain. No, cannot.
Male, female each one, in migraine spirit sunk.
Discredit existence. Hook or crook cash earn.
Trust nobleman’s radio, t. v. newspaper, magazine;
Responsible noble job, cannot the lazy unworthy.
Save skin, blow wind, undeniable, unpredictable;
Marketing poverty, complete package of wonders
Lots and lots of money voted from fooled audience;
Land in laps of goody-goody ganders.
Sniff, sniff bitchy bitch, sticky nose, heroine expose; Drugs?
and heroes? Jet around third worlds kingpin, contuse;
Their authorised, useless films, rust in dustbins.
Beautifully put Jayati. I do watch educational television. However agree with the sentiments in your poem as I do find that some documentaries rather than raise social conciousness seem to cater to the baser side of human curiosity than serve as educational tools.
Once again you have used the arts and your beautiful craft to make your point and your voice heard.
