The easygoing art
charmingly smart
Asked me for a date
Excited, first refused
Then innocently, agreed.
Went for dinner dance
Drenched in metal thread
Trademark yarn, 'lurex'
My armband Mr Handsome.
Dressed in licentious skill
Holding licence real, ‘will'
Wearing him as necklace
Honey through our ears,
Dreamy half-closed lids,
Music intoxicant, we swayed.
Joy slipped through the veins deep into our hearts
Perceptions, mixing in blood, reached the brain cells.
Touching gargantuan in voodoo razzmatazz
Twinkle of an eye, reduced gamete, we were.
Interesting tale of a date. I haven't been on a date in a very long time and I don't know that I'm ready for one. The thought of having affection turns my stomache and twists it into knots. It's been almost a year since I broke up with Greg, but he tainted me on love and affection. I can only hope you've had better luck with men than I have. Keep writing.
Great poem. Thanks for commenting on mine.
Here is a poem akin to falling...
where love takes two and make
them one.
I enjoyed this intense poem
it was less than a poem and
more like an experience, hence
an act of true poetry.
Loved it - Keep Writing - Keep the faith.
