Paralleled Worlds

Folder:
Early 20s

Most of life is spent living
In two worlds:
One in our heads,
The other in reality.

The world in your head,
Is everything you’ve ever hoped.
I can say all the things
I mean to say;
Without pause,
Without fear or concern.
I can do all the things
I want to do;
Without hesitation,
Without panic or anxiety.
I can feel all the things
I wish to feel;
Without doubt and wavering,
Without reservation.

The world in your reality,
Is the real expectation of life.
Every conversation is filled
With awkward pauses,
And fear that I might say
The wrong thing.
Every action is carefully planned
And even after hesitation,
Filled with racing heart beats
And anxious breathes.
Every emotion is muted,
Suppressed, based on the notion,
That all feelings will only
End in one…. Hurt.

But every now and then these two worlds collide:
Hopes become real.
Words are said.
Actions are made.
Emotions are felt.
All completely and openly,
Ending not in hurt,
But love.

Sometimes our expectations
And our hopes,
Conveniently align.

This life is the "once upon a time" kind of fairy tale that will sold to the masses 2000 years after it ends
