There are still some songs,
I can’t listen to?
Songs that force me back
To a time in my past….
To a moment that I miss
And while the moment is gone,
It’s missed because it was good
And stays vibrating within,
and its absence is dark.
The moment is a vague memory
And I will never get it back.
Sometimes it’s not just a single moment
But rather a collection of values;
Or of those feelings…
Or a face…
Did you know…
That some nights you appear
In my dreams,
Letting me go back in time?
Did you know…
There are still songs,
That make me think of you?
Songs that come on the radio
And remind me of love;
Loving and being loved… by you
Our time together was indelible;
And what we had was real
But it was and is now gone
In the years that have past
I still find myself thinking back;
Recalling all the little idiosyncrasies of us
Almost wishing we could go back
Or try to be us again
Or something…
Did you know…
Sometimes I listen to those songs
Just to go back,
and remember you?
