There's frost on my windshield
And I can't see through the fog in the air.
Squinting, I try to see the open road ahead
But no matter how hard I try,
I keep checking my rearview -
Hoping to see the past, wanting to see you.
Ahead, it's cloudy and I'm not sure where I'm going,
While behind, I knew exactly where I was.
The road up ahead is unfamiliar and new -
And looking behind, I know of everything and you.
Once I got my wings, I wanted nothing but to fly
Open my arms, and reach for the clear sky.
Heading forward and watching the miles as they pass -
Looking at your picture in the frame on the seat.
Everytime I glance at it, our eyes seem to meet.
I missed you before I left but I had to move on.
It's better for us both now that the past is gone.
Love, there's frost on my windshield
And as I squint my eyes,
I can see paradise.
