The Coming of the Dawn

Folder:
2007-2009 Poems

Wake me at night time...

Blue moon is up, melancholic

Serenading every single weary soul

Like mine.

Take me to the garden...

Let the cool breeze blow me over

To chill deeply, painfully-

And make me feel alive.

I'm okay.

I breathe in...breathe out...

I can feel.

My life is changing,

I am growing...moving on

To my dawn.

I am fine.

I've got my family and friends.

I am loved.

And I can love,

Everything is right,

But something is..........

Pale, beautiful yellow roses.

In my hands for too long now.

Thorns have peirced my skin,

My blood has kept you alive.

You and I are one.

And I am not letting go.

Not now that I see the tip of the sun.

There's no turning back.

I've waited so much for this...

How long 'til the breaking dawn?

As Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song, so aptly reminds us,
"The waiting is the hardest part..."
Excellent poem!
these lines especially

"Pale, beautiful yellow roses.
In my hands for too long now.
Thorns have peirced my skin,
My blood has kept you alive"

Peace
Dylan
