The Homecoming Gift

Folder:
Gotta have FAITH

When I go home,

I will be delighted

To see You waiting for me,

Smiling, standing at the Door.

When I go home,

I will be excited

To have Your comforting arms,

Finally wrap around me.

I wish I will be able to tell You

Wonderful stories from where I've been.

The things that I did to make You happy

And make You proud for having a child like me.

Because I miss You Father.

Everyday, I try to see Your Face

In this difficult world, I need Your grace,

Your love, in everything that I do.

I wish I could remember what I am here for.

When I do, I hope I do them well,

Do them good, I hope to do them right.

So when I go home, I will be pleasing to Your sight.

When I go home, I will bring You a gift.

It is a story about my journey back home...

And I hope it will be a good one-

With a happy ending, long before I am gone.

From where I am now, I go on.

Still writing the pages as I walk on,

Tired, thirsty for Your ultimate Presence...

Until then Father, until then.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was re-reading my Purpose Driven Life Book and this is the product of my reflection on the author's line: "You are not here to be remembered. You are here to prepare for eternity." ~jerlin 15 April 05
