In yourself

What you do

For everyone else

Expecting praise

That's not right

It's not the way

Of those who fight

For others wellbeing

You're not supposed

To EXPECT

Thanks, as opposed

To those who do it

Just for the smile

So it will linger

For a little while

At least...

But no, you need

Much, much more

To do your deed

A counselor you are not

For they don't expect

PRAISE, but you do

Unable to accept
