Confessions: Real Woman to a Real Man

Lend me your heart

For a second or two.

Give it to me graciously

With patience and simplicity.

Allow me a single chance

To set it free?

I know you’ve seen heartache and pain.

Even when you smile, I can see through that façade.

I’ve been where you are more times than I can count.

It’s not easy left to accept and expect amorous pitfalls

Broken promises, hidden lies, put up walls

But, there came a time to put all that aside.

So if you lend me your heart from this day forth

You’ll see a glimmer of light thru dark and cold night.

Lend me your heart

Just this one time

As a favor to me

Let me have it my way

And how it should be.

In your dreams

There’s a longing

To soar beyond imagination

Yet in reality there’s a rooted fear

Frightened to release self-imprisoned woes.

And weary are you to take that chance to lose control.

Perhaps if I have the lead, you may follow

Take my hand and I’ll relieve you sorrow

As we continue on the road of life’s journeys and spins

If you believe, many an obstacle will be tackled and resolved.

For if you lend your heart from this moment

It will be clear

Your forlorn hours are over.

Gone like the wind.

My lessons taught will protect the heart, as its mine own

The spirit will be cultivated like a flower in bloom

In pure silence the words will be heard

To create understanding of the inner workings of you.

The corners of your mind can transcends space and time

Respect placed onto this, my counterpart

Lend once more your heart

So you may understand

What true love feels like.
