No different am I than any else, I seek what others seek:
The path that leads to ‘Life’ amidst a world so dark and bleak.
And as I’ve sought, I’ve often read that ‘few’ shall find the gate
That guards the path described therein as narrow and as straight.
Thus I can’t help but wonder: “Will I be one of the few
Who by chance finds this narrow gate and then knows what to do?”
The odds against such seem as though I hardly stand a chance,
When all there be to fill my sails are winds of circumstance.
But somewhere also in the verse is found another clue:
Seek…you’ll find; Ask…you’ll receive; Knock…it shall opened unto you.
So it would seem that if I want to walk the chosen path,
I must first pause to kneel before the Lord and humbly ask.
And make resolve: “No matter what He asks of me, I’ll do”
Then I can hold faith knowing that…I’ll be one of the few.
