People Say

People Always say, you just don’t understand.

I’ve learned to tell this truth, because now I know,

You don’t know what you’ve got till It’s gone.

You just don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

Everybody says it, but they don’t know how true it is.

Life beats you up, and it don’t give a care.

The only thing that matters is having somebody there.

Life knocks you down, makes you look like a clown,

You don’t remember anything you said.

People Always say, you just don’t understand.

I’ve learned to tell this truth, because now I know,

You don’t know what you’ve got till It’s gone.

You just don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

But life goes on, on to a new dawn.

It’s leaving you behind without a rind.

You only know a few,

Of the life that you once knew,

Everybody else, remembers what you said.

But now you don’t, not since you got hit in the head.

People Always say, you just don’t understand.

I’ve learned to tell this truth, because now I know,

You don’t know what you’ve got till It’s gone.

You just don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

I’m not living in the now, I’m living in the how.

Wondering why this happened to me.

Of all the people on this earth,

It was me who had to receive this second rebirth,

Trying to make a new life while searching for my past.

But what’s been done is done,

You can’t bring back the past.

The damage is already done, and life is going fast.

Guess I’d better move on with my life.

People Always say, you just don’t understand.

I’ve learned to tell this truth, because now I know,

You don’t know what you’ve got till It’s gone.

You just don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

Memories will come, and Memories will go.

Your friends are there to help you,

And that’s the way to go,

Bring back your past, Make your friends last.

You don’t know when what you’ve got will be gone.

I like the living in the how line. Very clever!
