A Different Kind of Hero

A Level spark of friendship

lies deep within their azure eyes.

Upon smiling lips

The weight of friendship shows.

And in their glowing aura

Is the friend you'll always trust.

Because they're a different kind of hero,

A True Friend to the bitter end.

They'll see you through all you do.

And when their time is past,

they leave loving footprints that will always last

In your heart, mind, soul.

Be they the one who hurt you

By accident, yet fixed it in the end.

Or if they be the one always seen by your side.

They listened to your rants and raves,

Never telling you to 'just behave'

Instead seeing you through any tide.

Because they're a different kind of hero,

A true friend to the bitter end.

They'll see you through all you do.

And when their time is past,

they leave loving footprints that will always last

In your heart, mind, soul.

When you were feeling down

or feeling lost in a crowd

They were always there for you.

They soothed your hurts,

made your sorrows disappear

They're a different kind of Hero,

Because they're quite common you see.

They're the heroes that reside

In the hearts of you and me.

They're ordinary people

The Heroes of today.

The ones who keep the world together,

The ones within us every day.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I'd been thinking on what really made a hero, and this was what came out. I guess it's sort of a tribute to those I love, and to the good things that make me love them.
