When a child is born

so is a special bond

between mother and child

it cannot be torn

There's a special love

that only they share

treated with care

So as not to abuse it

It grows with age

making it stronger

where nothing can break it

neither pain nor rage

but when harm comes

to one or the other

whether child or mother

its the other that hurts

they are left weak

wishing it were them

wanting to shout the truth

but unable to speak
