He Loves Me

Devoted to me with all he has,

Even taking care of my little needs,

Showering me with all his love.

Moments of passion that we share,

Often left me panting for more.

Never demanding more,

Devotion is all he gives.

However he has a flaw,

Usually making me frown,

Anger he fails to withhold.

Chunks of hurting words,

Hitting me like debris.

Unable to retaliate,

No weapons to defend,

Gushes of tears I cannot stop.

Flooding him with my tears,

Open wounds bared before him,

Overawed by this silent shield

Kindling the love in him.

Locking his arms around me,

Offering words of apologies,

Vows of forever he makes,

Eroding my persistence,

Shattering my walls of resistance

My heart melts.

Emasculated of all feelings of resentment.

He said he loves me.

Didn’t he?

A very bare and emotive poem, Jas.
Indeed, the persona feels like a bird in a cage to me... enjoying the wind and sunlight when the owner lets him out for a while, shrivelling under the owner's glare and thunderous voice at other times.

And u ended with an aptly ambiguous and self-doubtful line... which, i am sure, many people would have asked themselves before too.
Pats pats...
Thanxs for sharing this with us.~

Take care.
