Hosanna, 4: At Joseph's Steward's Office

I told Joseph we should put up a fence,

just to avoid such an experience

like this---it is the worst, and prime, example:

the inept guards, the mourners bearing myrhh,

the fishing folk who hail from Galilee;

and last, the high priest's staff (one dared to peel

away the melted wax of Pilate's seal).

In haste, none of them minded much to trample

what little might be left of evidence

available to sharp eyes on the lawn

to prove the body snatchers' felony.

Must have been several, for one man alone

in his best strength, could not have moved that stone.

A gang, I think, that has both brains and brawn

slipped passed tired soldiers some time before dawn:
on that, reports and common sense concur.
