Memorandum From The Assistant Deputy Under-Commisar
We shall color the Motherland in concrete- and steel-gray,
as we lead the people along the Socialist way---
the path to the Communist Workers' Paradise.
Great Lenin's grand dream we shall busily realize.
Our flag is Red but so is the coagulated stain
of those who, in the People's Struggle, we have slain.
We have silenced their suffering, dying groans
in the grind and roar of our joyous elevation
of massive machines bearing girders and stones,
and factories lit by ardently wielded sparks,
as Lenin has illumined us in the interpretation
of the brilliant historic theories of Marx.
To work, hard work, Comrades!, as we construct the
Soviet State that will stand for millenia!
