At A Theatrical Premiere

"The scholarly, obscure and much distinguished poet said

to one selected actor, 'My verse brings you to these stages,

"where you are subject to my lines just, but extensive, rages.

"Your much proclaimed talent falls. sadly, short by any guages,

"not even worth apprentice Martian seafarers' small wages.'"

---ShellySand, "The Secret Sectarian"

Francesca, I read this poem one year to the very day

when our relationship began, like denim cuffs, to fray,

while, n my ten week's absence, you appeared in that bad play

(which was far more disturbing than Oscar Wilde's Salome).
