The faithful and wise ones saw, in the East,
Christ's star rising with light that did not dim;
and so they came, seeking to worship Him:
thus, in the Gospel's early History,
one finds the presence of a Litrugy.
Despite the world's reductive perfidy,
such sacred worship, since those ancient days,
rejoicing always in Him, will not cease,
whether the local time is fast or feast.
Such is the practice holy souls prefer
to offer in their sacrifice of praise,
more precious than gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Saint Matthew wrote for us this sample
of Faith expressed in worship as example.
