[after Matthew 25:21 and Mark 5:36]
As far beyond our local galaxy,
as is remotely possible to be,
the reach of our human cosmology---
beyond even observed astronomy---
beyond the near or far snares of smug sin
(and its choicest of weapons, disbelief
and self-loathing, judgmentalizing grief),
Christ, our Maker-Redeemer's Poetry
greets us at this edge, or back on the earth
(and here, or there---we who are born again
need have no lingering fear or question of,
our destiny in Christ's eternal Love).
Wherever we go, will not be mere whim:
the ancient Faith is a shelter of certainty
where Christ meets us---there, we are drawn close to Him,
to hear His Words (for which we have long prayed),
"Welcome, good servant," and "Be not afraid."
Unaffected by our sins' gross perfidy
is the fellowship of Salvation's mystery;
and Grace's merciful abundancy;
and prayer, as a staff to lean on worshipfully;
and of the Orthodox Faith and its stellar spirituality.
