There are quite a few express buses plying from Golden Mile Singapore to Puduraya Bus Terminal in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Some of the operators plying on this route are Grassland, First Coach and Aeroline. All of these 3 operators have their departure points at Golden Mile Complex so basically as a customer you are the King of choice. All these buses terminate at Kuduraya Bus Terminal, Malaysia and the total duration of the journey is just 5 hours if you come across heavy traffic. I prefer travelling through the night so my journey took me about 3 hours. Aeroline also offers a non stop express bus service directly at the alighting point in Malaysia. Other operators like Grass Land and First coach take a short break of about 30 minutes in Yong Peng.
Taking a bus between these two cities will not only be light on your pockets but is also completely hassle free. Buses come with the added advantage of point to point journeys between your favourite hotels and shopping destinations. This would not have been the case if you chose to travel by air. I booked my bus tickets from redbus.sg and the ticket prices were as low as SGD25 which I found to be quite surprising and reasonable. I had booked an express bus which had 3 seats arranged in a row. However, if you are planning to book the SVIP class there are about 24 to 27 seats and a one way bus ticket will cost you somewhere about SGD30 to SGD40. If you are one of those who prefer to travel in luxury and do not care about the costs that it carries you will be delighted to know that there are several 18 seater luxury buses from this newly launched operator Trans Star Solitaire which have ample of leg room and elbow space. Tickets cost starting from SGD60.
One of the best parts of travelling by bus was that I could use my laptop and my phone throughout the journey inlike in an airplane. Moreover, each row of seat had a charging dock for people preferring to be connected all the time. Not once during the journey was my cell phone out of coverage. I think that this is one of the main reasons why people choose to travel by Bus.
You will be delighted to know that all of these operators offer free wifi services on board. Some Operators like Aeroline and Trans Star Sollitaire are also known to serve light meal on their buses to cut down on significant stocks and reduce the total duration of the journey. One thing that I notice was that as a thumb rule the higher class of buses you book shorter is the duration of the journey. I found the bus operators quite punctual and plyed their buses on the scheduled time. Travelling by bus was fun as I love to make friends and could do so as I met quite a few locals as well with whom I got to know many things about the land.
