A Quiet Night

oftentimes

the stillnes of the night

beckons to me

and i am enfolded in its mystery

oftentimes, these moments

urge me to dream

as hard as i can,

and still i'm empty

oftentimes,

the darkness sings

a haunting melody

but as dark is always blind,

there is cause for sadness.

pain

and agony

beyond the depths

of hell itself

this night

enshrouds me in quiet misery

how i wished i had

a thousand candles

or your warmth

beside me.

As with the last review, I will admit that the ending is by far my favorite part of this piece. The imagery is amazing and makes it an excellent piece. As others have pointed out (in other reviwes) you should consider publishing---assuming you haven't or aren't already.

I absolutely love this poem!!

Lines I really liked:
"There is cause for sadness, pain and agony beyond the depths of hell itself."

"How I wished I had a thousand candles or your warmth beside me."

These two lines are so powerful. Excellent Write!
