Although her soul may have left us
Her memories do live on
There is a piece of her in me
And everyone of the Montgomery line
She lived a great life
She loved one and all
We cried so much when she left us
I thought we would fall
I miss her so much
I wish she would return
Cancer shouldn't have taken her
She should have been fine
June will be in my heart
Forever and live on
I will tell my kids about her
And pray that she has moved on
Her spirit is at rest now
Her body has long been gone
June Carter Montgomery was my grandma
And for that she will never be far
Nicole - You have touched my heart in a way you cannot possibly fathom, but will come to know when you have your own children. You have so thoughtfully honored my mother with this tribute. I am so proud of your poetry and I am honored to call you my daughter. You are a beautiful spirit and it shows in your work. Keep it up because it just keeps getting better. - M.
