"Just Another Shattered Life"

Pulling the pain

From somewhere deep

Constantly beating on

My torn open soul.

Twisting my heart

With broken glass

The broken glass

Of a broken portrait

A broken portrait

Of a broken family.

A broken family from

What could have been.

A broken family of

What we couldnt get.

You took a glance

Into what there was

And it wasnt what

You wanted it to be.

You walked away like

The portrait was all

There could have ever been.

It was never enough

To satisfy your hunger

Your hunger for something

More then what lied here.

You wanted more than

Just another day in

My life, your life.

So you took the portrait

And walked away.

Never looking back

Until the day you

Came across that

Portrait once again.

Tears were falling as

You realized what you

Had given up to just

Become another man

Without a family.

The tears clouded

Your sanity and you

Couldnt take the pain.

You threw the portrait

And shattered it.

And with the shatter

Echoing through your head

Constantly beating on

Your wounded heart.

You took one last glance.

Then gazed off into

The nothingness that

Consumed you.

Cause with the shattered

Portrait came another

Shattered life.

My shattered life.

Your shattered life.

Just another,

Shattered life.

Author's Notes/Comments:

People walk in and out of your life everyday, i guess the ones who stay are the ones who were worth you time in the first place....-JM
