Streetlight Haven

A dark winters night in an unknown part of town,
Treading slowly through the snow my problems weigh me down
A lonely lightbulb flickers in a lamp around the bend,
While a sudden sense of peace is felt I cannot comprehend.

Feeling lighter, the veil is raised, as moonlight fills the sky,
Glowing snow under contrast lights; a blissful sight up high
Daylight comes as it melts the snow and I see my streetlight bare,
Relieved of stress, peace takes hold -- a feeling that is rare.
