The March

The march is tough and often walked,

Alone, amidst, chaotic thoughts,

and incoherent ramble ons

About how far or where we've gone

The road is long and arduous

and slowly becomes part of us.

All the highs and lows, twists and turns,

the pain we've felt and pain we've heard.

The valleys are hard to escape.

Endure them till they become peaks.

Embrace the times that we call lows,

but it can't be the highs you seek.

Just enjoy your time on this walk

See views and take time to stop

And not think about what we have

But about how it all might not last

Slant Rhymes Rock!

Loved the easy cadence like walking, loved the absence of sacrificing meaning for rhyme scheme, that takes talent and time - appreciated this one. The last two lines say more. - Just Bein' Stella
