+ 1ST ORTHODOX POEMS: Variations On A Theme . . . Worshipping Outdoors Somewhere In The Vast Snowfields Of Russia
Raise up to its rather towering height
the three-barred Cross over this vast expanse
of snow-frozen landscape, unbroken layer of white,
spread by the roiling snowstorm that, by random chance
(or so it seemed to many folks last night).
Do not allow discomforts of the chill to stall
your efforts. The tolling of a nearby bell
accompanies your work. And standing the Cross will tell
to passersby, yes---everyone and all---
that here the Orthodox Faith presides, and is very well.
