Where the poem has been is

Where the poem has been is the Poet's private knowledge which he need not disclose to his readers.  Where it is going is the Poet's triumph which he has disclosed to the edification of his readers.  This poem, which operates more like a Haiku, or some of those single or double line inscriptions on ancient edifices, is far more profound than its brevity would, at first, suggest.  The Poet has expressed one of the timeless truths of human situation:  that the showing of concern for a fellow human being enhances that human being's private and public existence.
