At first, life is joyful, everyone's at peace.
One brother loves another, miracles never cease.
Yet, there is war, violence, and crime towards one another.
It's man against man, girl against girl, and brother against brother.
Shots are fired, ending innocent lives.
Husbands die and widow their burdened wives.
Nothing is said, as we kill our fellow man.
No action is taken, just a gun in our hand.
And as we take innocent lives, we smile.
Ignoring our morals, just to be of a certain style.
Only to get decorated with medals.
While our fellow man is under rose petals.
When that man you call enemy is in his grave:
You rejoice and think you are brave.
Then, when you return home, happy and content.
Think of all the lives you've spent.
Then when it's over, you know the score.
It's still 0-0, so must we fight anymore?
i think this poem is amazing, and i agree with you must we fight anymore
The message of you piece is powerful. War is hell. Thank you for sharing. I hope to read more from you soon.
Good food for thought. I don't think it's going to change how the president runs America, though. I don't think it's going to solve problems with other countries. I wonder what the world would be like without wars, but I fear I won't ever know nor will you or anyone else for that matter.
“Then when it's over, you know the score.
It's still 0-0, so must we fight anymore?”
This is very true. To me this poem sums up the chains of conflict and war among nations Very expressive and so sensible.
