I know what you want
but it's not what I wanted
I know how you feel
I wish I felt the same
but you're all I could ask for
my god-given gift
and I don't want to lose you
but I can't help this rift
that's opening between my mind
and my heart, that foolish me
which refuses to acknowledge
that your plan won't let us be
cause I'm all you could ask for
but you'll never see that
cause you seem to be blinded
since I'm not what you'd thought
you'd fall for in the end
so you won't let it be
although we're a match made in heaven
and we're perfect, don't you see
from the moment we met,
we clicked, we knew
that whatever may happen
we'd be together, the few
that find true love
the kind everyone longs for
but your obstinacy is a hurdle
to happiness, the door
the one that was meant for us
since long before we could dream
what the future held in store for us
what light, what shining beam
and it turns out that it's us we have
this happiness that shines on us from above
everytime we are together, it's obvious
that maybe this is what they call love.
