You came to me last night
you were nowhere near, but you came to me
I couldn't feel your warmth
and I couldn't smell your hair
but you were there
I woke up with a deep breath
my heartbeat was slower
my chest relaxed
your breath was still there
your warmth was still there
I could still smell your hair
it was just a gift you gave me
a gift of memory
a gift of mind
to give my soul
a reason to smile
a reason to cry
a reason to keep being.
