Sonnet, Woman

I clean the house and watch over children

I sweep and know exactly what I want.

With other women, I just don't fit in

I watch and listen whilst they talk and flaunt.

I work hard until my work is facile.

My husband loves me, and I am his queen.

When I do go out, life is such a thrill

Even if blocked, by an infamous screen.

This world sees me as just a simple tool

It rebukes, creating insurgency.

Men think "she's just a woman, she's a fool"

But man will never have full sovereignty.

I am strong, and compared to the trojan

Because indeed, I am simply, woman.
