THE FALL OF THE SINDBAD

The Gravity at Koh Chang Coast

(1)

I am an average human with above average obsession of running all over the globe. I love to spend whatever extra time I can afford in traveling here and there for the sake of appreciating the different manifestations of Mother Nature and creating a deeper understanding of the various human life styles.

In my recent trip, I unwillingly went deeper than I expected in satisfying my quest.

The story begins in the 31st of august, 2016, when I took a taxi from Bangkok heading towards a small city called Trat in eastern Thailand from which I intended to take a ferry to Koh Chang, or in English the Elephant's Island.

Unfortunately, we arrived Trat 10 pm. The taxi driver informed me that I missed the last Ferry but there are small boats that can take me to the Island for a higher price. He recommended that I check into a hotel in Trat and resume my trip next day. I experienced an overwhelming desire to invade the island at this dark magical moment of night. Hence, I asked him to find me a small boat, and so he did.

While I was negotiating the Boatman about the price, the taxi driver repeated his golden advice "spend the night here and tomorrow you can catch the first ferry". He added, "The Island is not going to fly away, you know!

While staring at the magnificent mountains of the Island, I replied, "there is not much of a distance between me and her, I have to visit her tonight". I did not know that between her and me there would be a great pain. I did not know that I will fall roughly on the lip of her shore instead of cuddling her flora, inhaling her aroma and may be sipping a little of her cocktails. I did not know!

We arrived Koh Chang Island at a very dark moment of night. Our boat came to rest next to a number of boats.

I remember seeing the boatman carry my large bag to the coast while saying I will go to get you a taxi. I remember seeing him rapidly go away.

According to my unreliable memory, I carried my laptop bag on my shoulder and tried to cross the gap between the middle of the boat and the coast.

Suddenly, I found me in the depth of dark space.

I looked around to see a shield of darkness surrounding me. I looked up to see a dim spot of light taking the shape of rectangle while down in the bottom of the dark space I felt the warmness of water and saw something that looked to me like a bottom of a boat!

I assumed I am in the bottom of a water reservoir and wondered: what is the wisdom behind this weird design

I remember that I stood up trying to find an exit but slipped and fell again.

I remember that I felt weak and helpless

I remember that I shouted loudly demanding help, but only to hear in return deep frightening silence.

I remember that I gave up and closed my eyes trying to convince me that this is not real but only a nightmare, a nasty dream.

I failed to hypnotize myself. The mind was so awake and the body was in pain! I took my mobile out of my pocket and started to send flashes to the world outside in order to receive back only clouds of darkness. I gave up and closed my eyes again.

Suddenly, I heard voices. I felt hopeful so I gathered what is left in me of energy and loudly shouted asking for help.

Someone I remember descended and tried to pull me up. I screamed out of pain. He then went up.

After probably 10 to 15 minutes 2 young men came down to smoothly place me on a board and lift me up while smiling.

They then uploaded me into a van. I asked: where are you taking me? They replied: to Koh Chang Hospital.

Thank you my friends for

Thank you my friends for giving me your kind and supporting attention.

I want to finish telling the story I started. It is worth telling. The problem is my lab top got it's own enjury. For unknown reasons it ceased to function. They told me to take it to the hp agent in Bangkok but I am tied up here to Trat hospital. I have appointments, and it is hard to use a mobile to write stories.

love you all for being so nice to me.
