Look

Have a good look upon me

And tell me: am  I an alien or not

Alien I was as far as I remember

Alien I feel

And I intended to depart alien

Now, I stumble in  an exotic city that hums:

Stay stranger … stay

Am I not an align

Go deep into my verse and tell me

In a sense we are all aliens upon this earth. We do not know our true selves ( our souls) some are quite aware that they indeed have a soul but they really do not know their soul. Perhaps this is the struggle you feel is going on in your life. You are a deep, sensitive poet so it could be that part of you that is feeling conflicted by what all you feel on the inside compared to all that is going on in life on the outside of yourself. I feel that way sometimes as if I do not belong. Like I was put on the wrong world and should have been put upon the more sensitive deep thinking one rather than this shallow greed and power based reality we find ourselves living in. Just keep writing out whatever it is you feel as its a form of coping I feel with all that is conflicting inside of you.
I enjoyed this poem. Thank you for sharing. sincerely, Melissa Lundeen
