If I Could, I Most Surely Would

If I could remember you, I would recollect your reflection

Always as an infallible perfection.

If I could embrace you, I would restart

Pulling you closer, chest-to-chest, heart-to-heart.

If I could speak to you once more, I would confess

That your glance leaves me eternally breathless.

If I could caress you, I would seize you without clandestine

Swiftly and indelibly as if it were our only moment in time.

If I could walk with you, I would walk a step ahead

Enduring every danger and distress instead.

If I could have you smile, I would give my eyes

To know that wondrous sight would forever reprise

If I could cry for you, I would obliterate the harmer,

Freeze my tears, and construct for you an icy armor.

If I could touch you, I would be left

With emptiness when no longer accompanied by your deft.

If I could hear you anew, I would merely listen

To the brimming reverberation of your speech until I fell into submission

If I could witness you happier, I would liberate you

From my reach as my heart immortally awaited for your returning rescue

And, if I could admit, to you, all of this,

Maybe, I would no longer reminisce in something that never did exist.

Nice

I read another one... "Death of Remorse" a little confusing to me but well liked by most it seems. i probably ought to expand my vocab a bit for better comprehension. In any case I liked this one much better. And although I first felt impressed to comment on your work as you had for mine, scrolling through the elegant critics and comments lovingly given, I feel slightly meager in my thought and words. I really don't have quite the maturity of mind or speech yet I think to compare to many of the other authors and readers on this site. Thanks so much for giving my poems a look at and keep up the good work :) awesome stuff

This is excellent poetry...

Such a beautiful story this tells, bringing in several different emotions. Tragic in some ways, inspirational in others. The desire  and longing in this poem is almost hot to the touch,at times...making this an outstanding poem on that aspect, alone. The Literary device used in the lines .....I love the second line...when spoken, it just sounds beautiful and harmonious...great assonance. Lines 13 and 14 are also excellent and really bring the emotion to a new level.  The difference between a good poem and an excellent poem is making the reader feel what was in your heart, and you have done that here, without question.  Truly a wonderful, beautiful poem.
