You are absolutely right hopeful woman. Love cannot be possessive or contained like material in a room even it happens to be as palatial as a palace. Love is free and the universe is the best example of this fact. As love is not materialistic it cannot be confined or 'imprisioned'. Love flourishes only in freedom. You have conveyed the point quite poetically yet very accurately -- better than even a mathematician or logician.
You have started the poem with some properties of light but end it with NIGHT. I like the comparisons you have made of your love torn between light and darkness here. I too am a broken-hearted person who loves the peace that night brings with it. But I also adore the time when it thunders and rain -- as if beating along with my own heartbeats which I mostly keep hidden from the worldly people especially those tio whom love also becomes a possession. I loved reading the poem as it contains many emotions of mine hidden deep within your few lines. Kudos.
I seem to have commited an error in my comments. Please ignore. Thanks in advance. By the way wy don't you review some of my poems? I would love to read your analytical comments.
Thank you, Emmenay. Possesive love is a difficult one. Been there too many times. Makes it difficult to open up fully. All I ever wanted was to be free to love freely the people that I'm drawn to. My love cannot be contained. Hurts too much when I try to do that.
I AGREE WITH YOU

I like the ending.
Since you had the beginning with torn and worn,
i think night fit it so much better than right.
It made me think when day was approaching again,
the night was ready to take leave. <3

Awe. I like you're thoughts.
This night is darkened
With a sliver of a moon
Stars lighting the sky...
beautiful night
