Do you see them
Some people call them
Freaks who need more friends,
Whose candle blew out
Way too soon.
The depressed clown
Sways back and forth
His exaggerated smile
Reaching back to his ears,
The bright red makeup
Dripping down his chin.
He looks over
At the Bearded Lady,
Her forgotten life
Fading away
Into her blackened
Covered face;
Once beautiful
Until someone
Falsley shaded in
All the gaps
That let her be herself.
Across the feild,
If you pay fifty cents
You can see
The siamese twins
Dance the hokey pokey,
They wonder why
It causes so much fuss now,
Because when they were kids
They were normal
And now they are considered freaks,
Like the hunchback
On top of the old church
Ringing away
His dreams.
